Sunday 14th February 2010
Sunday next before Lent / St Valentine

The Collect
Almighty Father,
whose Son was revealed in majesty
before he suffered death upon the cross:
give us grace to perceive his glory,
that we may be strengthened to suffer with him
and be changed into his likeness, from glory to glory;
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.

Readings for today:
Exodus 34: 29 to end
2 Corinthians 3.12 to 4.2
Luke 9.28 to 36

FOR YOUR PRAYERS
For those who for various reasons feel excluded from the celebration of ‘Valentine’s Day’.

For Haiti, that the opportunity for reconstruction of the country brings real improvement to the lives of the people, the infrastructure and the government.

For the Team core group of clergy as they spend time away together this week planning and praying for the future of our ministry and mission together; clergy and laity.

For those who live in Court Drive (Shillingford) and Courtiers Green (Clifton Hampden).

For the sick, that they may know God's healing presence with them.

For those who mourn.
